USA V. Germany

Today was pretty awesome at work.  Got to wear my jersey and then we went to a bar to watch from 9-11 AM.  Was decently crowded but people are pumped about soccer right now.  No photos.  Forgot.

Mom Visits

Mom came out to visit this past weekend.

Arrived Thursday night - didn't do too much special since she got in late.
Friday - I had to work but we went to target and then an awesome dinner at Ray's Cafe.  (try the Mussels).  Also go here for photos - sadly no sunset shots: http://www.rays.com/cafe/photos/
Saturday - shopping!  Once we got our acts together we went to IKEA for shopping.  Then came back and put together furniture.  Then went to bainbridge which is a really cool place and also affords the opportunities for cool ferry photos:

Sunday we watched the US vs. Portugal at Buckley's which was a blast even though the US couldn't pull it out.  Then we made dinner and relaxed after a weekend of organizing and building.

june 6-8 - this was a good weekend.  I went out with some coworkers to this art museum thing on friday which was pretty fun.  Then went out in Queen Anne to Ozzies where people were super into karaoke.  Saturday has ulti where we played in basically the most beautiful setting ever:

Saturday night I went to an event at a Tesla showroom which was amazing.  Got a ride - I want one.

Sunday we did a bbq at Robbie's.  roof deck overlooks lake washington which is very pretty:

This week I went back to DC for work and TJ's wedding.  Was a blast but it was super bittersweet to leave DC because this time I don't know when I'll be back.  Wedding was obviously a blast but some highlights of the trip:

- Medium Rare on Wednesday with Roommates
- Happy Hour Thursday
- Seeing everyone Friday at wedding party
- Meeting jack the bulldog - first photo with him

The following week flew by.

So I haven't been good about this in the first month I've been here but I have lots of things to share.  I'm just going to start this at the top (post 1 of 2):

May 13 - Ship House

May 14 - Ship Car

May 15 - Fly to Seattle!  Jess picked me up at the airport but had to go home.  Went to dinner at Grub with Trisha and her boyfriend.

May 16 - First day of "work"  We went Curling which turned out to be awesome.  I've always wanted to go and finally got a chance.  Will update with photos later.

May 17-18 - First weekend.  Played ultimate in Wenatchee with a mixed team called the Freeze.  Was a blast.

Not much remarkable happened the first week or so of work.  my stuff isn't here so I need chairs and tables and things.

May 24 - second weekend...prettyyyyyy quiet friday night.  Woke up early saturday and went hiking with jess and Doug to Wallace Falls.  Was really foggy but fun.

After that I met up with Roman, Charlie, and Heather Ann at a festival at city center:

Got some cool food and some ideas for gifts and things.  Was really interesting.  The people in Seattle are kinda hippies.  It's pretty different from DC but it's cool.  Charlie encouraged me to try out for Rhino.  Sunday had practice and then Trisha's Bday party.  Then Monday I went to the Mariners game with Doug to see the #GOAT play.  He sucked but whatever.  An amusing thing that happened is that people in center field kept telling trout he sucked and he called them out on being hammered by miming drinking.  pretty funny to see a player interact with the fans like that, I thought.

Nothing super exciting during the work week other than watching insanely exciting blackhawks games vs. the kings.

My car came this week.  My stuff came on Saturday.  Went to Rhino on Sunday and crushed it.  Super pumped for the second tryout (writing in this past future setting is odd)

Jaywalking

I jaywalk all the time, everywhere.  In Seattle people don't jaywalk and while it is annoying, I admire their refusal to jaywalk.  It's incredible.  From the super bowl celebration:

Blog for the Move to Seattle

This is going to be the blog for my move to Seattle!  Most posts are going to be short and relate to something new in Seattle.  Funny observations, fun events, etc, etc.

For starters - I'm here in Seattle doing househunting and something cool that happened was that on Sunday I was in every city in which I have lived for more than 3 months.

Chicago - Connecting Flight - got a drink and watched the bulls on their way to a bad loss
Philly - Dropped Dan off on the way back from TJ's bachelor party in AC
DC - Got home. Unpacked.  Packed.  Raced to Dulles.  Left.
